Start Your Morning with a Smoothie Bowl!

Since eating more cleanly and allergic to eggs and dairy, breakfast time seemed to be the hardest meal for me to eat. Mostly because I was sick of the same oatmeal every morning! I have been enjoying smoothies for a years but never thought to create a nutrient packed bowl and enjoy it as my breakfast. One of my favorite things about smoothie bowls is that you can add different ingredients in giving you a different bowl each time you eat one! The main thing that is different from a smoothie bowl to a smoothie drink would be the texture. Smoothie bowls are more on the thicker side whereas smoothie drinks are thinner. A few smoothie bowls must:

  1. Use frozen fruit, this helps keep the smoothie bowl thick not turning into a smoothie drink!
  2. Frozen Bananas are a must, they give the bowl its nice thick consistency. If bananas are not your thing you can substitute with frozen avocado. When making this substitution, you might have to add dates, maple syrup or honey to help sweeten it up!
  3. Start with 1/4 cup of liquid and add more as needed.
  4. Have a good quality blender!

Basic Recipe: Serving Size 1

1-2 Frozen Bananas

1/2 Cup Fresh Fruit

1/2 Cup of Veggies (Optional)

Powders (Optional)

1/4 Cup of Liquid

Top with your favorites, seeds, nuts, flakes, granola, fruit, cocoa nibs, whatever you enjoy:)

My go to Smoothie Bowl Recipe!

1 Frozen Banana

2 Cup of Strawberries, Blueberries & Raspberry

Handful of Spinach

1/2 Organic Cucumber Skin Left On

1 Tablespoon of Plant Based Protein Powder

Juice of 2 Oranges

Topped With:

Fresh Blueberries

Coconut Flakes


1 Tablespoon of Hemp Hearts

Drizzle of Honey
